Last Monday 20th February, a group of students and teachers coming from schools in Kungsbacka (Sweden), Yalova (turkey), Beius (Romania), Palermo (Italy) and Ferrol (Spain) were hosted by the Polish school Gimnazjum nr2 mi. sw. Walentego w Bieruniu in Bierun.

Sanremo Music Festival: what do you need to know

Every year, in Italy in the month of February a music festival takes place in Sanremo, Liguria. It’s broadcasted on our national tv station.

During the 2nd week of February (from the 7th to the 11th) the 67th edition of “Sanremo Music Festival” took place. The festival was born in 1940 when, after the end of Fascism, Italian economy was in tatters. So the government, in collaboration with Rai broadcaster (Our national tv channel), decided to raise up Italian economy and the soul of Italian people, through an annual song festival. Thanks to this was born the Festival of Italian Songs.

The Rigopiano Hotel disaster

On 18th January 2017 in the region Abruzzo in Italy, in a place already damaged by  a great number of earthquakes, after seventy two hours of heavy snowfall, a mass of snow came away from the Mountain Siella carrying with it rocks and trees, covering and destroying completely the Rigopiano Hotel with almost forty people inside.

Grammy Awards 2017, Adele breaks one of the prizes and gives an half to Beyoncé

On February 12, 2017 the 59th Annual Grammy Awards was held, the highest award for artists and singers of the music world, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The evening was conducted for the first time by James Corden. The nominations were announced on December 6, 2016. 

GUCCI WANTS ACROPOLIS FOR HIS FASHION SHOW

The Central Archaeological Council (KAS) of Greece rejected Gucci’s request to host and film a fashion show at the archaeological site of the Acropolis this summer.

The Italian fashion producer has asked to perform a fashion show in front of the Parthenon, the best known monument of the Acropolis in June 2017. Beyond the authorization to hold the event, Gucci has also prepared a petitioned to obtain the license to film the fashion show.

The last Beatles’rooftop concert

It happened on January 30, 1969: the last concert of the Beatles.
We don’t know if the four musicians were aware of the fact that this would have been their last concert;  There were about a few dozen people who were present at this extraordinary event thanks to their lunch break; they left their workplaces to get on the roof, perhaps unaware of being the last to be present at an event that would have become history.

Grammys 2017:Adele broke her trophy

Adele swept the top honors at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, but the night was shared with Beyoncé.
Adele went home with five total awards, including album of the year for 25.

Beyoncé won two, including best music video for "Formation" and best urban contemporary album for "Lemonade."

Matteo Renzi's resignation

Nearly three years after he became Italy’s youngest ever prime minister, Matteo Renzi officially stepped down on Wednesday, three days after his stinging defeat in a referendum, formally ending Italy’s 63rd government in 70 years.  This vote was a referendum on whether or not Italy should amend its 1948 constitution.

WOMEN'S RIGHT TO VOTE.

Women's right to vote should have been accepted much earlier. The first time that women could vote without any restriction was in New Zealand in 1893, because of Kate Sheppard´s struggle.

37 dead after plane crash

A Turkish cargo plane crashed in a residential area near the capital of Kirgizstan on 16 January. At least 37 people were left dead after the crash, according to CNN, most of them families who lived in the area that was struck.
