Surrounded by sounds

Music – has been crucial to people for thousands of years. It has accompanied human civilization since the beginning, and both active creation of the music and listening to it, have been equally
important.
We may perceive music in various ways, it may awake a range of emotions and associations, but we are all not unresponsive to music.

Even the deaf are not indifferent to music. It is known that a British hearing-impaired, yet astonishing artist Evelyn Glennie, plays the music feeling the vibrations - she performs barefooted.
Playing an instrument for a lot of people is a hobby or a way of life. There are a lot students at our school who like to be musically active and master their skills at music schools, they dream about performing as professionals on famous scenes. The guitar, the violin and the piano are the most popular instruments. The fact is that such additional activities are time consuming - even 5 hours a week and you have to practise at home, too. For that reason some of my friends give up intensive education of music schools and try to learn by themselves at home. Recently, we could have seen the effects of their fascination of music and listen to a concert they gave. We had a Christmas performance and students who have never played before together created a kind of orchestra, everyone was delighted. Below there’s a link where you can listen to them.

Listening to music is a part of an everyday routine, studies show that 92% of students see music as important part of their life. We like listening to some popular songs when we walk to school and during breaks. It helps us to relax, when we meet with some friends, we look for some records which help us to create a pleasant atmosphere. Scientists presume that music can also make our sports activities more efficient, as the rhythm and tempo make us work harder and longer, it gives us power, stimulates our brains, we are less eager to concentrate on pain and tiredness.

To sum up, music has been crucial to human beings since ages, and both creating music and listening to it are by the same token vital. Since we are all surrounded by sounds which are not accidental, we have created a list of top 10 songs which were most popular in Poland in 2015 (according to a popular among teenagers radio station).

We are very curious about your choices, would you pick similar songs? What do you like listening to? Is music important to you? Why don’t you write about it?
