Meziad Cave

by Karolina Łosoń
Gimnazjum nr 2 im. św. Walentego w Bieruniu

On the first day of our visit to Romania we saw the Meziad cave, which because of its unique character is a nature reserve. It was discovered in 19th century, but wasn’t open for tourists till the 70’s of 20th century, it could only be done after detailed recognition and constructing of the paths. Nowadays the cave is popular among the tourists but doesn’t seem to be too commodified.

Before our trip to Romania we were searching for information about the cave on the Internet, and on the many websites tourists advised taking a light torch due to the lack of electricity in the cave. On the spot it turned out that the advice was out of date as in the autumn 2012 there were some renovation works – the paths were rebuilt and the lighting was installed, according to modern technologies, which enable protecting the cave’s environment.

Each of our project international meetings involves games and sports competitions. Are you aware that though, there is a wide range of sports disciplines, the number is still increasing? For example, in the Olympic Games in Tokyo (2020) five new categories are going to be introduced:
baseball (very popular in Japan), karate (with Japanese origins), skateboarding, climbing and surfing.

Gimnazjum nr 2 im. św. Walentego w Bieruniu

My stay in Sicily, during the project, was an excellent opportunity to get interested in Italian traditions. I’ve discovered that there are many holidays in Italy which are celebrated in similar way as in Poland. However, I’ve found also some differences. I’d like to present you my personal overview of calendar and some holidays which are present in both cultures.

Music – has been crucial to people for thousands of years. It has accompanied human civilization since the beginning, and both active creation of the music and listening to it, have been equally
important.
We may perceive music in various ways, it may awake a range of emotions and associations, but we are all not unresponsive to music.
