Charlie Hebdo shooting

Student: Daniel BUDO, IXth A grade; Coordinating teacher: Natalia HEREDEA; School: “Samuil Vulcan” National College

Charlie Hebdo is a French weekly magazine that created a controversial debate about the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad Islam ( the founder of Islam ).
As a result of the cartoons published by French weekly, on January 7, 2015 two people dressed in black and wearing masks, armed with assault rifles entered the premises of Charlie Hebdo, after they  had initially been in a wrong place , entering the Charlie Hebdo archives.

The terrorists have forced an editorial cartoonist to open the door , and once in the office, they began shooting, killing 10 people, including the cartoonist Charb, the main target of the attack and the police officers who protected him. Charb, who was also the editorial director, was protected by the publication of cartoons of Mohammed in 2011. The terrorists have shouted "Prophet Muhammad was avenged" and fled on board a black Citroën C3 II parked in front of the building.
The bombers were faced with three police patrols while trying to escape . In the last confrontation a policeman was shot dead by the terrorists. The bombers left the car in the northeast of Paris, where they stole a Renault Clio which helped them disappear.
In my opinion, the cartoonists from Charlie Hebdo should not publish the cartoons on Prophet Muhammad as freedom of speech has limits, as Pope Francis  said: "People have not only rights and freedoms, they have the obligation to say what they think for the common good. Using freedom of expression is legitimate, but not to offend. Because, if a friend says bad things about my mother, I can give him a punch,it is normal. You  can not insult the faith of others, you can not mock". Pope also said: "There are many people who speak ill of other religions, they deride ; these people are instigators", referring to Charlie Hebdo magazine cartoonists. The cartoonists have challenged the bombers  and the latter have responded to the challenge in a cruel way.
But even if the Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, I do not consider that the bombers would have to attack , even in the name of religion . Religion promotes love, not hate, murder and revenge. "You can not start a war, you can not kill in the name of religion ! (... ) It is an aberration," said Pope Francis all in the same statement.

To affirm solidarity with dying due to the attack, important public figures in politics and other fields, but also ordinary people have adopted the slogan of solidarity " Je suis Charlie " used mostly on social networks , but also in commemorations organized in the streets of Paris, but even in cities in countries other than France.
