It all
started on 18th January with the Emergency Ordinance regarding the
reprieve law as well as other modifications brought to the Penal Code that were
published in the Official Monitor.
On
the 19th January, the first protest against the reprieve law took
place at the Government, some politicians pretending that this Ordinance was
given overnight so that some politicians should not be imprisoned. The
organization of the protest was made on Facebook and these marches gathered
more and more people. These protests spread out in many other important towns
(Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Arad, Sibiu) .
Unfortunately at these marches there were recorded some incidents, too,
and tens of people were brought to the police-station. Even if important
analysts demonstrated that the enactment procedure cannot be censored, that the
changes were made according to the Constitution of the country, these protests
are still on even today.
More’s the pity, the country remains divided in two, some people
protesting at the Government, some at Cotroceni even if RCC decided that the
Government worked by the law.
Today, the 9th of February,
the Minister of Justice resigned and the Prime Minister put up for an interim
Minister.
