Turkey's first Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey- (TÜBİTAK) funded science center in the central city of Konya will introduce the Max Planck Science Tunnel, which has drawn 10 million visitors in 30 cities of 18 countries, from Friday to May 31. Mayor Tahir Akyürek said the interest in the center established by the municipality increases each day.
He said that visitors flock to the center featuring scientific exhibitions, a library, observation tower, planetarium and a cafe. Soldiers from the Azerbaijani air force who recently carried out a joint military exercise with Turkey in the city's Anadolu Kartalı airspace, were amazed while visiting the center, Akyürek said. He said the center hosts many permanent scientific exhibitions and events. To develop scientific studies, follow technological developments and contribute to the future of scientific fields, the Max Planck Science Tunnel will attract the interest of all science lovers, especially students. Akyürek invited all to the tunnel displaying different objects related to life, health, energy, society and materials.
