Thomas Quick – Guilty or not?
By Vanessa
Sidlo
Thomas Quick is a well-known case that has received a lot of attention from the media, even today. It has never in history happened that a man confesses to about 30 murders, gets charged and sentenced and then some years later released due to the lack of evidence. This is Sweden´s biggest justice scandal and there are many mixed feelings about whether he should be free or not.

USA Cuba Embargo
After more than 50 years, USA and Cuba have finally
kicked their negotiations off. USA has since 1962 conducted an embargo
that, among other things, prevented American citizens from travelling to Cuba. But
we might just see the end of a 50-years old national conflict.

“Je suis Charlie”: the freedom of the press
by Dishana Tevanantham
On the morning of 7
January 2015, at about 11:30 , two Islamist terrorists armed with assault
rifles and other weapons forced their way into the offices of the French satirical weekly newspaper “Charlie Hebdo”
in Paris. They killed 11 people and injured 11 others, and shouted "Allahu Akbar”" (Arabic for "God is [the]
greatest") during their attack.
TERRORISM IS AGAINST THE ISLAM VALUES
by Erradi Firdaous
I read
everything and even more on the Internet after the storm provoked by the
terrorist attack in Paris. I read too
many things, too many frenzies, too many meaningless sentences. I heard too many
people speaking of something they don’t know. Too much
ignorance.

Weronika Urbanik-Pek: A Galician speaker.
Strange as it may sound, it's a true fact. This woman, born in the Lesser Poland voivodeship, can speak a really good Galician to our surprise.

DEEP IN TRANSYLVANIA
By Rafael Morna, IXth A grade; Coordinating teacher: Tamara Motorga; School: Samuil Vulcan National College
Bran Castle was initially built in 1212 to serve as a fortress. Today, tourists from all over the world come to visit the famous castle, which is known as being Dracula’s home, the first vampire ever.
Considering
that Vlad Ţepeş was compared to Dracula because of his authoritative reign and
the “blood thirst”, it was supposed that he lived in the Bran Castle, although
he never did. Bram Stoker chose him to be the main character in his novel, the
book being published in 1897.Bran Castle was initially built in 1212 to serve as a fortress. Today, tourists from all over the world come to visit the famous castle, which is known as being Dracula’s home, the first vampire ever.
CUMINȚENIA PĂMÂNTULUI: AT OWNER CROSSROADS
By Salome Petra Lezeu, IXth D grade; Coordinating teacher: Tamara Motorga School: Samuil Vulcan National College
”Cumințenia
Pământului” (Wisdom of the Earth) reflects Brancusi's philosophy that has its roots
in an earlier Christianity Wisdom. The sculpture represents a woman very focussed
on herself, her figure carrying a mystery that has become a universal portrait.
The statue attitude emits a sense of attachment to Mother Earth.
THE BIGAR WATERFALL
By Andreea Halasz, IXth C grade Coordinating teacher: Tamara Motorga; School: Samuil Vulcan National College
How beautiful Romania is! So many
wonderful places to be visited! So many

We should be proud of our country because it’s the only country in Europe which
has all forms of relief.
TERRORISTS ATTACK PARIS
By Ioana Barbura, IXth C grade Coordinating teacher: Tamara Motorga; School: Samuil Vulcan National College
It is a dull and rainyday in Paris.
People are after their problems, knowing nothing about panic, fear, bloody
fights and chases, as in thrillers, and terror hidden behind the peace of that
morning.
On the 7th of January 2015 a group of
terrorists, belonging to the Islamic State and having as leaders the Cherif and
Said Kouachi brothers, begins a terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical
magazine. They could no longer accept the offences and the caricatures of the
Prophet Mohammed. Ten people and two police officers die in this attack. The
France police and special forces troops try to reduce the number of victims and to capture the terrorists.

THE WHOLE WORLD SAYS # JE SUIS CHARLIE
By Mădălina BONCHIȘ , IXth B grade Coordinating teacher: Ioana Lacrimioara RADA; School: Samuil Vulcan National College
The 7th of January 2015 will remain like a scar in the heart of France after two members of Al-Qaida killed 17 people in cold blood, 12 of whom being part of the Charlie Hebdo magazine editorial staff.
The 7th of January 2015 will remain like a scar in the heart of France after two members of Al-Qaida killed 17 people in cold blood, 12 of whom being part of the Charlie Hebdo magazine editorial staff.
The
whole tragedy occurred because of the publication of caricatures of the Prophet
Muhammad, to whom the Arab extremists have responded in an unexpected way. The
caricatures are actually illustrated satires used to straighten some habits,
not to insult or mock people or events; therefore they must be treated
properly. These exaggerated reactions must be stopped because it is
unacceptable for the whole population to stand in fear of being attacked or
even killed because they freely express their view.
BEAUTIES IN CODRU-MOMA (ROMANIA)
By Agnes CUPIN, IXth A grade Coordinating teacher: Ioana Lacrimioara RADA; School:Samuil Vulcan National College
Have you ever been to Romania? Most of you will say: „No!” or „Where is this country?”. Do you know that famous people from all over the world fell in love with my country after visiting it just once? The landscapes, the food, the hospitality of Romanian people… all of these are the ingredients of a wonderful holiday, a worthful souvenir that you will keep for a lifetime. Romania is a beautiful country that is worth being visited by tourists from all over the world. There are many beautiful places here, places that I visited myself last year. These beauties aren’t given the credit they so deserve, so I will become the promotor of my country, the developer of the western area of Romania. I will plead for the beauties of the mountains that stole my heart last summer: the Codru-Moma Mountains.
